I was born in 1951. Graduated in Chinese Studies in 1978, worked as an assistant/associate professor at Copenhagen East Asian Institute until 1989, at The Institute of Informatics 1989-98 and at the Institute of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Rhetoric 1998-99. In 1998 I became a part time lecturer at Roskilde University, and in 1999 I became an associate professor of Net media at the Institute of Communication, Computer Science and Journalism.

Censor ved Aalborg, Aarhus, Københavns og Syddansk Universitet, Danmarks Biblioteksskole, IT-Højskolen, Handelshøjskolen i København.

Gift 1978 med Lise, f. Brændgaard, og far til Jonas og Jais.
