Welcome to my alternative homepage of the world wide web - It mainly consists of personal links, but since you are here now let me tell a bit more about myself...
The web is a collection of pages and each page links to other pages - The file format is HTML, but there are several standards, proposed by different standardization organizations
I think most people use a W3C standard, but often an old one (and sometimes it is not followed closely) - For years the recommendation has been XHTML and I use it for my official homepage www.ruc.dk/~jv
For pages like my CV which I keep as compatible as possible I use a subset called XHTML Basic - It is especially suitable for small web devices (I use only modules that every device is required to support :-)
However, XHTML is a bit annoying to use if you - like me - prefer to type all codes by hand and therefore I also use the "flexible" ISO standard - You are currently looking at a sample ISO-HTML page!
I have played volleyball since high-school, but otherwise I have no real hobby - However I just got a broadband connection from TDC and here are some pages I often visit: 1 2 3 4 5
I support the open source idea and have used Linux for years - See Fedora (but there are so many excellent distributions today)
For more than a decade I have spent much time reading about the philosophy of science - In particular in relation to what is usually called philosophical logic (in my opinion it is really just logic as such)
I am a passionate user of the main scientific libraries in Copenhagen area: RUB KB DNLB DTV DPB - Search all libraries in Denmark: Bibliotek.dk
I check the wheather forecast and stock market from time to time - Both seem to have their own hidden logic
Look me up in DBLP (Digital Bibliography & Library Project)
